Together, heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death in Manitoba. You can help change this. We invite you to join other leaders across the province to make a difference in the lives of thousands of Manitobans affected by heart disease and stroke. What is Live Red?Live Red fundraisers are activities organized and hosted by members of the community to raise funds and awareness in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Manitoba (HSF). Live Red fundraisers incorporate fundraising, volunteerism and the promotion of healthy living, which are pillars of HSF. A fundraiser can be as simple as selling paper hearts or hosting a workplace casual day to something as complex as organizing a golf tournament or a fashion show. You choose! As a Live Red event organizer, you fill the role of both volunteer and donor to HSF. You become an integral part of the Foundation. Your work to raise funds helps the Foundation to fulfill its mission, which is to “lead in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy”. HSF is a volunteer-based health charity that relies on the generosity of Manitobans like you. It does not receive any core government funding and is not a United Way agency.
